Everyone has tried various versions of the Crackers, Butter, Sugar, Chocolate Chips, otherwise known as “Christmas Crack.” I love it, and my kids love, so it’s a go-to Christmas treat in my household. Last year, our neighbor made a variation that was SO Good, I had to make it this year.

ingredients for christmas candy

What You Need: It’s only FIVE ingredients: 40 Saltine Crackers, 2 sticks butter, 1 cup sugar, bag of white chocolate chips, candy canes. Plus, some aluminum foil and a cookie sheet.

What You Do:
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
Arrange the 40 saltines in rows to cover the full cookie sheet end to end. You could do this with more or less saltines, depending on the size of cookie sheet you’re using.
Melt two sticks of butter with one cup of sugar and bring to a boil. Stir consistently so it doesn’t stick.

Once all sugar is dissolved and it seems to be blended well, pour it evenly over the saltines. Use a wooden spoon to spread it evenly.
Broil in oven for about 3-4 minutes until crackers and butter are golden and bubbly.
Pour the white chocolate chips over the hot crackers .
Wait a couple of minutes and when the chips are soft, spread it out with a spatula until the full pan is covered in white chocolate.

Unwrap and crush 12 candy canes. Sprinkle the candy canes all over the chocolate.
Firmly press another sheet of aluminum foil over the crackers to push the candy cane crumbles into the melted chocolate. Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens (about 20minutes), then break into small bite size pieces and ENJOY!
And …. Try not to eat them all in one sitting!
